400iso is going thru some changes (Mostly transfering registar …) and should experience some technical difficulty during the next few days or so. Sorry for the inconvenience. I know that it’s tough to survive without a daily dose of 400iso

Well, this is another bad news for all film lovers. Looks like Agfa decided to reject the offer from PhotoMe to takeover their film operation … (more details HERE … I guess this is good news for Ilford and Fuji but it still worry me … I was planning on adding another rather expensive piece of equipment at the end of the year (M7 ? MP ? Make a guess ) but I’m a little unsure at this point. After my trip to Japan I’m getting less and less interested in Digital … I had so much pleasure using my 2 Leica that I can’t think of using something else …
I also have a problem with this news since my main developer is Rodinal … I guess I’ll have to buy one or two gallon … Dang !

I’ve been debating with myself a lot with the Google AdSense program but without really knowing what it does, how to use it and the added value around it. So today, I’ve decided to join the program and add a few ad on my photoblog. Multiple reasons for this decision:
1/ I want to learn what it really does
2/ I’d like to know if it add values to my visitor (U tell me …)
3/ I wouldn’t mind some revenue to cover some of my developement cost (There, I said it.) I realize that my trip to Japan had a cost (other than airplane, foods …). With 26 rolls of film and the associated development (yes I have been lazy for the black and white and gave the rolls to a lab …) we’re looking at a $400ish bill. I don’t regret one picture I took during the trip. But I realize that with the good news coming at the end of the year (more on this later … ) I’m going to need to start saving. If I could cover some of the cost with the AdSense program, it would be stupid not to try. So there it is. I have no idea if I’m going to make a buck in a year … I’m curious and this is also why I had to try it
Thanks for your understanding

Another shot from the funeral. This guy was playing the rather odd instrument which can produce aproximately 2 sounds but had a huge musical partition in front of him. Well I guess I know nothing about music … It was quite funny anyway.

This is my entry for this week PXITE challenge “Eye” ( Here). This was taken last year in a mall in San Francisco.

This is my entry for this week’s Photo Friday challenge (”Purple”). This is an old shot of mine, taken with a Canon G2. A friend of mine offered me a flashing multi-color pen (!) that I’ve waved in front of the camera (on a tripod) for 8 seccond. Interesting results !! That’s something I like about digital. Being able to test stuff like that without worrying too much about film cost. I wouldn’t try that one with my Leica

I’m always a bit hesitant taking picture of painting. After all, the real art is in the painting, not the photograph of the painting. But I like to share what I see, what I experience … And I wanted to share a small painting I saw the other day in San Francisco. Very colorful .. It really drew my attention.

I was driniking a beer with a friend in San Francisco and I was taking picture of people passing in front of us. Looks like this girl saw my little game but I doubt she understood what I was doing with my small blue box

Well, it was meant to happen. As I experiment more and more with new gear, I had to stop at the Lomo corner. Just got a supersampler on the Bay and shot my first roll this afternoon. I have to admit that it is quite fun and it requires a completely new way of thinking and open up a whole new world of creativity. I’ll definitely carry this camera with me quite often …

This is a picture for this week’s challenge at Photo Friday. This was taken in 2003 in Hawai … I like the complexity of the tree and of course the more deeper complexity of love engraved on these …

It’s been a while since I’ve been to Santa Cruz. I really like the atmosphere of this city. Berkley like but a little cleaner with musicians everywhere ! These 2 were nice enough to play for my daughter !!
AMAZING picture of the day @ Outafocus: John.

Another of my poster series. This one for a famous Vodka. I just liked the color and the setup of these posters.
Picture of the day @ Electrolite: Chair.

I’m not particulary found of writtings on wall, but these with the color and texture of the wall drew my attention. Wish I knew what the wrtting mean though

I just wanted to share with you an online magazine I’ve just discovered: MakingRoom Magazine. Beautiful portfolio on different theme, slick design. A must read for everybody !

Saw this newspaper on some stairs in San Francisco. I really liked the contrast between the paper and these dark stairs. I felt they were meant to be. And every day they play the same play …
Picture of the day @ She broke my heart, I broke her face

One of the reason I got interested in photography, was to be able to document some key memory for my daughter. My parents did it for me (I always spend hours going thru family album when I go back home) and I wanted to do it for her. Writing is one of this moment. Of course she’s only 2.5 years old and doesn’t write yet. But she sure know how to use that pen !

This is one of the thing I like about the United States. Crazy people (sometime just acting crazy …) in the street shouting whatever is on their mind at that moment. Reading the bible, complaing about this and that … In Europe, we complain a lot as well, but we do it in group. It’s very unusual to see someone by himself trying to make a point. This guy was the best and the message … Well, it’s up to you. I think he has some good point .. Maybe a little extreme, but definitely confident about his point of view !! Only in the US …

Well blue ie is indeed. This was an interesting sculpture in San Francisco, with a magnificient blue which remind me of the “Bleu klein” which I’m familiar with since Yves Klein used to expose quite a bit at the Art Museum in Nice (my home town). So when I saw this color, I was a bit back in Nice …
